What's Going On....: Cousins....Caviar.........10 days of........

Dreams do come true..... Enjoying incredible views over the Mediterranean and Barcelona shoreline, Cousin Rebekkah and I got to enjoy a relaxing poolside Gin/Tonic at the W Hotel, while catching up on the last 20 plus years

It was not long til we found ourselves dining at the hottest restaurant in town. 41 degrees, the Adria brothers' Barcelona tapas and cocktail bar. Do you know who I am talking about? One of the best restaurants in all of Spain, El Bulli, just closed their doors and opened a cool funky out of this world restaurant and bar in the heart of Barcelona. Normally a 3 month wait is in order. I guess we just got lucky because they took us when we walked in. This is not just your regular tapas bar. How about starting off with some vodka and caviar, then maybe a mango leaf with marigold, yogurt pistachio and tal vez some steamed brioche with mozzarella. Have you ever tried a parmesian ice cream sandwich before?

oops, almost forgot to mention that my gin and tonic had an edible flower floating encima...

We were ready to hit the town........

At 41 degrees, at the bar.........

Off to the clubs for some late night dancing.... did I say that we started at around 1:00 am....

The Next Day we began again.....

Days lead into Nights, Nights into the Morning and then we start over again. Our next night we found ourselves dining at the amazing Dos Palillos.... Here we go again, the creator Albert Raurich who for 8 years was the chef de cuisine at El Bulli takes a Spanish/Asian twist to the word Sushi and Tapas. He is a leader in the modern gastronomy of cutting edge cooking.. Darn.. I don't have a photo of it but the japoburger - a plump little miniburger, seared just rare, laid over some lightly pickled cucmbers in like a dumpling bun...to die for...
